Housing and support for young women in Brighton and Hove.
Stopover is for young women who are homeless and need a safe place to live, where they will get help and support so that they can move on to live independently.
Stopover offers a safe place to live and friendly staff who will help you take control of your life and:
We’ll listen and give advice without judging.
Our two houses (Stopover One and Stopover Two) have different levels of support. Many women move from one house to the other, before moving out and living independently.

“Stopover gives you more confidence to do new things and helps you sort yourself out.”
“Keywork was very useful, I managed to overcome a lot of fears in the time which I spent here.”
“It made me look after myself more because there isn’t anyone else to do it. It helped me look after things, helped me look after my money.”
“Probably the best supported housing in Brighton and Hove area. Not enough support from the others, no work on move-on, people come out the same as they came in. I had several keyworkers at Stopover so I can say that they are all good, qualified and supportive. There should more places like Stopover.”
“Got to college, made me grow up, made me get on with my life and do something. Helped me to go and get a better life.”
“Living at Stopover has kept me on top of things, so things have not snowballed. I think I’ll take this into the future. Beforehand I would have hidden a letter I didn’t understand but now I’d deal with it straight away.”
