He is involved with the Brunswick & Regency and Henfield neighbourhood action plans and has been an Impact Trustee since 1987.
John has, like Leo, been a trustee since 1987 when he was also chair of the Hangleton & Knoll project, one of the first projects that PACT (as Impact was then), had under its wing. Community development and eduction have long been driving forces in John's life. He moved on from Hangleton to be Director of Education for the Diocese of Chichester. Since 1999 he has been the Rector of Hustpierpoint where he is actively involved in St Lawrence's Fair, which dates from 1313, and the Hurst Festival, dating all the way back to 2005! He served as Chair or Vice-Chair of the organisation for 17 years and is very happy to have handed on those roles to others.
Mike was appointed as Chair early in 2007 and he is greatly involved in making a direct contribution in leading the organisation. He is continually inspired by the range and quality of our services, the dedication of our staff and volunteers and the number of people we are able to help.
Mike is determined that Impact Initiatives will increase the provision of its services to meet needs by filling the gaps in statutory provision. Impact Initiatives was founded over 30 years ago precisely for this purpose.
Mike was a Senior Partner specialising in company and commercial work and charity law with major local law firm DMH Stallard until his retirement in 2002. He has been involved in the Brighton & Hove community for many years through being a trustee or advisor for several local organisations, including Brighton City Centre Forum, Brighton Heart Support Trust, the Hangleton and Knoll Project and Brighton Festival Trust. He was also a Hove Borough Councillor for eight years.
Neil is a Chief Inspector with Sussex Police, now based at Lewes. In 2002 he was seconded to Impact for six months to help with a major review and restructure of the organisation. Neil served as a mental health liaison officer for Sussex Police for two and a half years prior to his secondment.

Over 80 staff and 100 volunteers help deliver services across Sussex.

Impact Initiatives runs a range of services across Sussex to enable individuals and communities to achieve an improved quality of life and to promote people's inclusion within the wider community.
"In 1978 IMPACT’s original vision was to: 'Bridge the Gap'. That is to provide services for hard to reach, excluded communities and individuals across Sussex, to ensure access to services and support where there is clearly identified need. We continue to maintain this vision and I am continually inspired to see the range and quality of our services, the dedication of our staff and volunteers and the number of people we are able to help"

Mike Long, Chair
